Every year the steppe village of Kavunivka produces harvests of fine red tomatoes. Tanned women harvest the tomatoes, and one can simply compare those people to Scythian women, because they have firmly grown into their soil and put down stone roots.

That certain year they had to harvest a mystical crop and pass down the secrets of its harvesting. This mother’s heritage will give protection, support, and consolation to their daughters, who by chance find themselves in their own home and under occupation – so different, so related. Who knew that under real life circumstances hope dies first?
