More than two thousand years have passed since Homer wrote his timeless Odyssey. The word itself has become a cultural archetype. Every self-respecting director has staged a play or made a film inspired by it. Yet behind the gleaming medals adorning the chests of its male heroes lies another truth: Penelope — the woman who endures, waits, and weaves.
How many more years must pass before we recognize that she, too, chooses, loves and stays true to her vows? Her journey deserves acknowledgment, even if some still see it as merely a quiet walk around the island.
