ABOUT THE SHOWCASE

Showcase: Dimension of Lesia Ukrainka Theatre is four days full of activities during which we present the diversity of genres and themes that have engaged us over the past six years. Each of them is a reflection of our reality and, at the same time, a dream of who we want to become tomorrow. We are creating an open space where professional theatre practitioners from Ukraine and the EU, together with our audience, come together in one room to experience the spirit of contemporary Ukrainian theatre and forge their own sense of connection.

The programme features 8 performances by the Lesia Theatre and 2 public discussions with Ukrainian theatre professionals. The most striking productions in our repertoire include: contemporary Ukrainian drama, fresh interpretations of Greek myths, unexpected perspectives on Dante and Aristophanes, as well as reflections on war and identity in the forms of a post-documentary musical, an ancient rave, a biopic and an eropolitical drama. All performances are accompanied by English subtitles, and talks are provided with simultaneous interpretation.
